ON THE RIVERBANK - Limited Edition, Original Reduction Linocut Print
Description
On the riverbanks of the Middle Rhine Valley, the interplay between light and water is often breathtaking. Never constant, always in flux, always beautiful. I often let it inspire me.
This is a reduction print. In German it is also called "Reduktionsprint", but also bears a very dramatic name of a "lost block print". The image is created by printing several layers of ink on top of each other. The lino printing block is carved for each layer, which each time reduces the printable surface of the block. A limited number of prints are created from each layer. The final multi-layered print cannot be repeated in this form, as the printing plate of the previous layers is "lost".
Each print is unique and has slight variations. Limited edition of 6, each print is numbered and signed.
